The location was very good. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Complimentary coffee and the free shuttle to a few of the historic locations in Washington DC were nice touches.
The hotel needs to improve the directional signage to the parking below level of the hotel. It was very confusing with the turns and various doorways to get to the underground area.

Terrible experience and out hundreds of dollars

They canceled us (3 rooms booked) at some point late afternoon, day of our stay, moved us in bookings to an inadequate alternate location, and claimed they had tried to reach out to us to let us know. It is the week after and still no one form of communication from Capital Skyline or Kayak or other. Meanwhile we watched as they checked people in while we sat there in disbelief. Missed dinner reservation. Asked to be canceled from the chosen alternate and refunded, when they could not provide something comparable. Still, no refund. Terrible location to boot.

decent hotel but could use some updates
The hotel was in a good location to see the sights of DC. The air conditioning in the hotel could use some work. One day the air was not working at all which was uncomfortable. They did get it working again but still wasn't great. We opted to get a fan to help keep cool. The pool area was very nice and a great way to beat the heat.

The Capitol Skyline Hotel is an urban-chic boutique hotel that is just five minutes from the U.S. Capitol Building. The 1960s-era building was recently renovated to include modern amenities and upgraded furnishings, while still nodding to the history of the hotel in the charming architectural design throughout. This hotel includes an Olympic-sized pool that has been voted the best hotel pool in D.C. The hotel offers 20,000 square feet of catering space and outdoor entertainment spaces. This smoke-free hotel also features an Executive floor with exclusive access and upgraded amenities.
This hotel is just ten minutes from the National Mall on foot, making it easy to see all the popular monuments and museums in D.C. Also nearby are the Nationals Stadium, Audi Field, and Yard Park, making this a great upscale destination for sports fans coming to the city. Navy Yard Station is just three blocks away, providing access to public transit to see the rest of Washington, D.C. while you are in town.
